If you’ve landed on this page, you are here because your clients need some help with their estate plan or business needs. You are busy using your unique expertise to serve them and you know that it’s best to have these legal issues dealt with by someone who focuses on estate planning and business law. Rather than setting your clients adrift to perform a Google search for an attorney or, even worse, letting them take a risk of using Legal Zoom or some other mail-merging form website, you want to make sure that your clients get the actual legal advice they need.
My name is Andrew Ayers and my practice is dedicated to helping business owners, their families and others get the estate planning and business law advice that they need. I’m here to help your valued clients craft and understand their estate plans and get their businesses launched and growing.
Connections With Clients
One of the most important parts of any attorney-client relationship is the ability to connect and have open and frank conversations. Clients need to understand their legal documents and the issues they face, and I aim to make sure that all clients stay informed throughout our time working together. When they are welcomed to the firm, they are provided with various ways to stay connected with me, including special calendars with times reserved just for client phone calls and meetings.
In addition to legal connections, clients receive monthly email newsletters, a monthly mailed newsletter, and a quarterly book giveaway, which my current and past clients find engaging and entertaining. The importance of these connections is to show clients that they are more than just a number on a file. I'm also happy to add you to any of these newsletters as well and also to a separate newsletter designed solely for referring professionals if you're interested.
Help With Their Estate Plan
Every year, thousands of people spend time thinking about whether they need a will or not. It’s one of those things that people know they need, but they never seem to get around to it. In fact, you can probably think of at least 1 client of yours right now that needs an estate plan, but probably will never get around to it.
I’ve focused my practice for years on attempting to simplify and de-mystify the estate planning process. Even that term, “Estate Planning,” is something that you and I understand when we see it. But most of my clients come into my office and ask plenty of questions but seem too timid to ask what “Estate Planning” is. It’s one of my goals in my Legal Strategy Sessions: Let’s Get All Your Questions Answered
Businesses and Their Unique Needs
You and I both understand the variety of challenges that are involved with starting and running a business. Remember how nervous you were that first day you went to work? Would your phone be ringing with new clients dying to hire you immediately? Maybe you brought some great clients from a prior firm and now you’re the one responsible for their case – they’re looking only to you now. One of the most important lessons I learned was the importance of not trying to do everything yourself. You need a team of professionals around you. If you or your client need assistance with business matters, I’m happy to help out.
Businesses get sued for a variety of reasons. It can be for issues like breach of contract, unjust enrichment, fraud or other business torts. Many times, the lawsuits are a combination of the above with some other claim that is unique to the business. When the claims are very complex, I work with other lawyers through either a co-counsel relationship or a referral to the best lawyer to protect the business.
Many of my clients have already had a distinguished business career and are looking to transition away from the business while protecting the goodwill and reputation of their business. Others are dissatisfied with their current business partners and are looking to move on to greener pastures. For these clients, it’s time to create a unique plan for them to realize the value and legacy of the business they’ve worked so hard to create.
Geographic Diversity
If you’re working with a large, international law firm, they likely have offices in whatever state your legal needs arise. But for solo and small firm lawyers, our presence is often more limited. My legal career began in New York City and has expanded over the years. I’m currently admitted to practice in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Minnesota and am happy to discuss a local co-counsel relationship for your valued clients that keeps you involved with the matter. Many clients find comfort and trust in having your continued involvement as we navigate their legal needs.
